Ripple Chat Bot

Battle.net Binary chat bot with more features than a Swiss Army knife.

Ripple Chat Bot Screen Shot

Ripple Chat Bot is a multi-featured binary chat bot. It is able to emulate any Battle.net client, allowing you to connect to Battle.net channels.

With its wide range of features, Ripple Chat Bot can do just about anything, from greeting anyone who enters your channel to synchronizing your computer's clock. The interface is fully customizable to your personal tastes, and with over 70 emoticons and full text formatting, you can send exactly the message you want. Ripple Chat Bot supports local hashing or BNLS connection, and will automatically download updated hash files from the RealityRipple website when they're out of date or missing, making local hashing a breeze.

Ripple Chat Bot fully supports all Battle.net clients, including Diablo, Diablo Shareware, Diablo II, Lord of Destruction, Starcraft, Starcraft Spawn, Starcraft Shareware, Brood War, Japanese Starcraft, Warcraft II, Warcraft II Spawn, Warcraft III, and The Frozen Throne. The latest editions of Warden, however, are not supported due to their ever-changing nature. Windows 95, 98, NT 4, ME, 2000, XP, 2003, Vista, and 7 have all been tested, and Ripple Chat Bot has been reported to work on WINE with a little effort.

This application is no longer supported or maintained, and there will be no future development by RealityRipple Software. As this application is Open Source, any developer may feel free to work on it at his own leisure, without restriction.

Download the hash files, extract em on the bot folder and then go to bot options, b.net settings and set Local.

RealityRipple, the warden is no longer online on W3.
Lockdown is gone too.
It is only required on BNLS and GHost++.

Could you start to work on it now then?

RealityRipple, The bot is working very well for me.
Nothing bugs up and the bot is nice.
But it spams me with unknown codes....

I really hope you could start to fix on it :(

A terrible shame that iTunes no longer works with RCB, and WinAmp is already horribly buggy. : Other than that, Amazing job, man!

RCB is one of my favorite bot programs. It's a great tool for any RPer still lurking on B.net. Much less annoying than Stealthbot.

My only complaint is that it bugs out for me sometimes.

Great bot, but a shame it isn't supported any more. I use it every day, and those who think it's a trojan are damned fools. I wonder if this will work with Battle.net 2.0 with sc2's release...

It seems when i try to install the bot, the download stops dead at 2%, and the window becomes unresponsive. It stops on the Arial File in my fonts directory.. Meh!

Also, i used this bot a few months ago, pretty much my favorite of all the bots, Hehe!

Andy. Still great to see you with RCB. Something I don't think will ever die; however I do on multiple occasions in the past say the last release is actually the LAST release but it never was. Hows Usa-1 if you ever go in there? Another thing, can you please email me on the basics of Windows 7? What's it about? Can I keep all of my stuff on my hard drive if I switch? You know, the basics. Anyway keep in touch.

-Regards, Brandon.

No idea, Junaid.

Mr. Caps-lock: look over the source code. In fact, look at the name of the trojan horse you've supposedly discovered.

Yes, you can join Battle.net with the final mess of source code, if you can get it running. It really is hell to set up, though.

No, I will not work on it, even if money is offered. That's not why I made this bot in the first place, and it's certainly not going to be a motivation to now.

You would not work on RCB even if you got paid? I would probably consider throwing in some dollars as well. If the bot got up and running again ;P

The state of the source code is unbelievably messy and unfinished. Other features aside, I began work implementing a locale system to allow for multiple languages in the interface, and then changed the implementation halfway through. It's a horrid mess. I'm not going to touch it again. Sorry.

Wow... You guys are starting to make me feel bad for stopping work on this. Honestly, though, I'm done with Battle.net development. You can create trivia through scripting pretty easily, in fact I used to have code written to do it on the old forums, but unless you can find it on a cache site (try wayback), it's probably gone.

yo sup Mr. Sachen, dunno if you actually read these comments or not but if you do, i'd like to tell you that your bot is hella awesome. hands down it is one of the best bot i have ever used.
When a buddy of mine, Cory@uswest told me about this i was like huh? never heard of it but once i loaded this upgraded swiss army knife, i was blown away that it can solve even trig through its math functions.
This would be the only bot i would ever, ever need and have to use if it can do trivia and load more than profile at once but i guess since this project is now dead, that wont be possible. I do wish that one day you will continue this bot and allow trivia amongst other plugins in it.
If you dont, i still believe you have created one of the best bots in battle.net history thus far. Thanks for this great bot. know that once i get a job in this recession, i might just pay you to help me enhance this bot further to what i want because i really do love this bot and really rather to have no one else work on it but its original author.

Best of luck in your freelance career,
- l.l@uswest and l.l@useast

Oh well this was one of the best bots i have seen in my time of botting.. oh well

RealityRipple
Jul 18 2009 6:59 AM
Oh, and it's also reliant on RBNLib, which I wrote in PowerBASIC, and is in need of work (such as the 26 digit key thing I can't figure out). And I started work on locales (language packs) and did a really shitty job of it, but it needs to be either completed or reverted, and either's a bitch of a job. And there's SQLite database shit, too. Just warning you, it's ugly. I started getting too creative with the source code.

RealityRipple
Jul 18 2009 6:56 AM
Unless they change something major in Lockdown, it should still work for classic games just fine (DRTL, DSHR, SSHR, JSTR, W2BN) maybe for the rest of Battle.net's existence. The newer versions do weird things with 26 digit keys for some unknown reason on certain computers (including mine now that I'm on Win7), and Warcraft 3's Warden is completely unhandled by any version... Other than that, whatever. I'm not supporting it.

If anyone wants the current source code to continue the project, you're welcome to ask for it. I should warn you ahead of time that it's nasty, tangled, half written code that will probably make you want to gouge your eyes out. Also, the entire folder (which you'll want) is about 80 MB.

Hopefully the bot wont fall useless, i cant go bakc to stealthbot and theres no other bots i can trust so blahhh, lol. it still works for me.but i never really upgraded it so im running a version or two behind.

Jul 17 2009 5:03 PM
Heh. To be honest, I detest pride. I made this bot so people would have a useful, friendly, and easy way to chat on Battle.net, with plenty of features to mess around with. It was never about the BNCS protocol or fighting against Blizzard. Battle.net just happened to be the medium I wished to use.

James
Jul 15 2009 2:12 PM
Ok not trying to sound mean or anything but isn't that were bot makers get there pride knowing they can beat the system? just saying

RealityRipple
Jul 14 2009 5:14 PM
I'm sick of working against Blizzard on their own servers. There are so many problems with the application itself, I wouldn't even know where to start if I picked it up again.

As for commands, you first need to set a trigger (it's in options, I believe under userlist), and then prefix any commands with that trigger. For instance, if your trigger is a "-", you'd do -games. You must also make sure to give yourself access, of course.

Thank you for your answer. I've also read similar news at different forums. Now only Ghost is supposed to work with Warden (with a bit of fiddling about) but thay might also get banned. Alas, I don't want to run or maintain a complex program like that.
Quite a shame for RCB as it's a fine piece of work. We shall see what Blizzard's next step is or what the new BattleNet 2 (when SC2 comes out) allows and how it will work.
Again, many thanks and I hope I can use your program in the future!

RealityRipple
Jun 1 2009 8:55 PM
The only way I'd be motivated to work on a Battle.net bot again is if Blizzard Entertainment stops actively working against bot developers. Having to deal with their changes (Warden, Lockdown, etc...) is too much. Also, logging in to Warcraft 3 on RCB is useless, since the new version of Warden for WAR3 will disconnect you in two minutes.

I'm having a problem with the beta (v1.3.4 doesn't work at all) as when it downloads the archimonde.mpq from Blizzard (this is for TFT by the way) the program crashes. Quite a shame as RCB continues to run in the background but when I close the error message it suddenly closes. Could you help me on this please?
Also, what (how much :) would motivate you to further develop this program?

Ripple Chat Bot 1.3.41 beta 43 may be downloaded from http://realityripple.com/Uploads/Projects/RCB1342b43.zip. I do not yet know if this version will ever be completed, or another released. I don't really have much motivation to work on it any longer.
